Good Morning and Happy Friday TMSA Triangle!
I have some fantastic news to share that will undoubtedly make your Friday even more special.
Our sophomore student-athlete, Mina Cayli, has been selected to join the North Carolina High School Athletic Association's (NCHSAA) Student Athlete Advisory Council for the next year.
Our Athletic Director Mr. Childress said that this prestigious appointment is truly a historic milestone for TMSA as Mina becomes our very first representative on the SAAC. Mina excels both as a cross-country runner and as a basketball player at TMSA, showcasing her exceptional talent and dedication.
I cannot express enough how proud I am of Mina for achieving such an outstanding honor. Her selection serves as a testament to our commitment to providing a well-rounded education that nurtures the academic, social-emotional, and physical development of all our students.
The Council, comprising 20 exceptional members, advocates for the interests of over 200,000 student-athletes across the state, with each representative selected through a rigorous process that assesses their leadership qualities and role model attributes.
Mina's tenacity extends beyond the sports arena. Earlier this year, she was selected for the highly competitive Duke Clinical Research Institute's Summer Training in Academic Research (STAR) Program.
Enjoy your weekend, and let's continue to support and inspire our outstanding students at TMSA!
