Dear TMSA Triangle Community

Last week was extraordinary!

We have been honored with numerous student achievements and I felt it was important for our students to personally share their accomplishments at the last week's Board meeting. The Board was pleased to see the results of their selfless hard work despite the delay to other agenda items.

You already knew some of their achievements below, but, I wanted to reiterate them here once more. There are also new accomplishments among them, so ensure you don't miss the latest additions.

Let's start with congratulating TMSA's women's day first!

Happy Women's Day, TMSA!

We at TMSA know the importance of this day in advancing a fair, inclusive, and joyous society. We are fortunate to have Mrs. Cayli serving as the President of the TMSA Board, offering invaluable guidance toward this goal. Sending warm wishes to all the remarkable women leaders of TMSA on this Women’s Day!

We Ranked 1st at the NC Science Olympiad Regionals!

You already know this. At the Board meeting, Elizabeth Sajan eloquently highlighted the team's hard work and exceptional performance. To repeat, the varsity team got 1st place, while the jv team secured an impressive 5th place. The Club Advisor, Mr. Dogru said that we achieved top-10 rankings in every event, a feat unmatched by any other. I cannot list all the names due to limited space here, but  congratulations to you all and thank you so much!

TMSA Triangle German Society Triumphs!

Our students speaks German fluently! Under Ms. Ensi's guidance, they showcased their prowess in the NC German Competition last week, earning numerous top rankings from cultural excellence to linguistic mastery. Great job, congratulations and thank you so much!

Trente Newman Received Full Ride Scholarship for an Exchange Program in Germany Next Year!

This is truly remarkable. Even though our German program is quite new, it continues to thrive, exemplified by Trent's outstanding achievement. He will go to Germany next year as an exchange student on a full ride scholarship and have an opportunity to meet Germany's president. Congratulations, Trente. We will miss you!

TMSA Model UN Wins Outstanding Delegation at Chapel Hill MUN Conference

I also shared this exciting news with you last week. Our students under Ms. Sharma's guidance garnered numerous achievements at the Chapel Hill MUN Conference. During the board meeting, we discovered that receiving a plaque from MUN with a school's name on it is incredibly rare. However, our students earned the Outstanding Delegation plaque for TMSA. Great job, everyone!

DECA Takes NC DECA State Championship by Storm. Again.

TMSA Triangle's parade of achievements and awards cannot be complete without DECA. They came back from the state competition as the best chapter, again. Even though they comprise only 2% of the total participants, they received 11% of the qualifying spots for the international competition. In the Board meeting, President Sina and his teammates made a presentation about their achievements and remarkable track record. You are outstanding, each one of you! Congratulations!

Jennet Invited to this year's ISTEC in Bali, Indonesia!

Imagine a future where your house not only provides shelter but also actively photosynthesize and emit oxygen. Jennet made a short presentation during the Board meeting about her project, and we were all fascinated. If her project works out, these houses can offer a solution to one of our most pressing global problems. Jennet, we are all incredibly proud of you. Keep up the amazing work!

Mrs. McCloughan Awarded DECA's Kenneth W. Smith Award

TMSA DECA Advisor, Mrs. Erin McCloughan, received DECA's Kenneth W. Smith Award for Dedication and Professionalism. She is one of two recipients chosen from over 250 advisors statewide. Mrs. McCloughan, who also serves as our Cross-Country coach, had been recognized as the Best Coach of the Year for the second consecutive year. Congratulations, Mrs. McCloughan, on these exceptional achievements.

Our Women's Basketball Team Secures Playoffs for 3rd Consecutive Times

As you know we prioritize a holistic approach to student well-being and development. Under Coach Smith's exceptional guidance, our women's basketball teams have once again secured a spot in the state playoffs for the third consecutive year. This accomplishment speaks volumes about their skill, hard work and dedication. Thank you so much Coach Smith and the team and good luck!

Alekhya and Sina Selected for NC Governor's School!

Alekhya Kota and Sina Dehghani were selected for the NC Governor’s School! I've just received this exciting news. The NC Governor’s School is highly competitive, being selected is a significant achievement. Yet, each year, two of our students manage to secure a spot. Congratulations to Alekhya and Sina on this outstanding accomplishment!

WRAL Brain Game: One More Match Left to the Final!

Do you keep up with our team's journey at WRAL Brain Games? Every year, they make history, and we owe much of their success to our Math Dep. Head Mrs. Glory Becker. Currently, we're just one win away from the final and they will face Raleigh Charter on April 6th (Saturday) at Wake Tech’s Northern Campus. We invite you to join us and cheer on our students. Make sure you be there at 11:00 am. Admission is free, and no tickets are required. Good luck, team!

TMSA CLOSE-UP's Second Interview with Mrs. Jawabreh!

You may recall that Mr. Mustafa started TMSA Close-Up to shed light on the unsung heroes of TMSA Triangle Cary, Apex and TMSA Apex. I am glad that I passed my turn. In this edition, he talked to TMSA Apex AP of Academics Mrs. Jawabreh. If you haven't already, I highly recommend reading it on ParentSquare. You won't be disappointed getting to know her better.

TMSA Talks: Dr. Fatima Paruk Addressed High Schoolers!

As you know, we hosted Dr. Fatima Paruk this month and I want to thank Mr. Mustafa and our parent volunteer, Sudeep Basu, for starting this project. Dr. Paruk's presentation made us believe that this project holds tremendous potential and can develop into a platform, where academics, practitioners, and business professionals alike can convene at TMSA and engage in discussions spanning various aspects of K-12 education. You will see more of this in upcoming weeks.

Odds: 12,500 to 1! Sreenivas Aced at Hole #19 at Knight's Play

Fresh off the green! Sreenivas Tatineni aced hole #19 yesterday at Knight’s Play. His name will now grace the “Hole #19” plaque in the clubhouse! Mr. Childress, our Athletic Department Head, highlighted that the odds of a hole-in-one for an average golfer are 12,500 to 1. Congratulations, Sreenivas!
