Downtown Hawk Walk

On Wednesday May 1st, the fourth graders had an awesome field trip! They had lunch near the Science and History Museums in downtown Raleigh. After lunch, they met with a naturalist to observe Red Tailed Hawks in their habitat. The naturalists set up scopes for the students to use and get an up-close look of the hawks. They saw the mother hawk feeding the baby hawks. The students learned all about the hawk's behavior, adaptations, diet, and body structure.

A special thanks goes out to all of the parent chaperones who helped out Mrs. Thomas and Mrs. Dawes on the trip. We look forward to two more great trips with 5th and 6th grade! 5th grade will be going downtown on Thursday May 9th, and 6th grade will be going downtown on Thursday May 16th.
