Black History Month Program

On February 21, 2013 the 6th graders of TMSA held the first Black History Program. The program included a lunch, speakers, dancers and art. We were so happy to have the student of the month of January to preside and other students to participate on program.  The parents and staff provided food and decorations to make this event one to remember.

The highlight was our very own parent Mrs. Allision , parent of Dayana Allison. Mrs. Allison is the first Afro-American Female Deputy Secretary at North Carolina Department of Transportation. We had mask design by our students under the leadership of Ms. Yount.  The Historical Shaw University Dancers performed and the Special guest was Mr. Delano Rackard reciting Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. speech, " I have a Dream".  Then we had a drawing for prizes for the students that turned in the Black History Trivia Sheet. Thanks to Parents and Teachers for making this day a success.
