Computer Science Education Week

Hour of Code comes to TMSA!

For the fourth year, Triangle Math and Science Academy is proud to participate in one of the most important events of Computer Science Education Week. The Hour of Code is a global movement by Computer Science Education Week and Code.org, reaching tens of millions of students in 180+ countries through a one-hour introduction to computer science and computer programming.

TMSA is supporting the introduction of Computer Science in schools by introducing computer science principles and programming in the K-9 curriculum. During Hour of Code week, our dedicated computer teachers will expose our students to new ways of learning how to code through fun and challenging coding activities by Code.org and more.

Our K-5 students will learn how to code with Ana and Elsa from Frozen, build a galaxy with Star Wars characters, build Minecraft Worlds, and more.

Our 4-8 students will learn how to code through building Minecraft Worlds, building webpages with HMTL/CSS, designing databases with SQL, and will experience Java and Python languages.

Our 9th graders will be exposed to new programming languages and technologies.

The TMSA Computer Science Team strives to motivate and raise enthusiasm in both boys and girls while they learn how to code through fun, exciting, and challenging activities.

TMSA computer science teachers and students are encouraging parents to spend an hour of coding to let their child teach them how to code with Code.org activities. Join the Hour of Code movement with TMSA and show that anyone can learn how to code. Happy coding!
