Robotics

On Saturday, November 19, TMSA will be once again be hosting the regional FLL competition. Students from all across North Carolina have registered through the FLL program to participate in the qualifying tournament.

Mrs. Raynor and Ms. Smith are very enthusiastic about coaching the next generation of TMSA’s Robotics Academic Team. Our unique and rigorous robotics curriculum is intended to prepare students to compete in FIRST LEGO League, Line Follower, and SumoBot competitions.

The FIRST LEGO League program challenges students to explore and engage in all STEM areas. Team members will collaborate to create a science project, and a robot , all while following the Core Values set by FLL. Every year, the FLL program releases a new theme. This year’s challenge is called Animal Allies. For the FLL Project, students have chosen to study and solve problems related to black bears, red wolves, and deer. At the same time, the teams are designing and programming an EV3 Mindstorm robot to compete in the Robot Game section of the FLL event.

Students from Robotics class are dedicating many extra hours each week to research and create innovative solutions to real world problems. Come to have fun and show your support for Cyber Tigers, The Roarnators, and Techno Tigers.

All TMSA families are invited to the Robot Game challenge. Admission is free!
