TMSA High School Students Volunteer at Ritmo Latino Event in Cary

9th grade Spanish students from TMSA volunteered at the annual Ritmo Latino festival in downtown Cary on Saturday, May 14th.

On April 27th, Mr. Valdez Ladd from Siemens (next to TMSA) and his colleague, Ms. Fabiola Paez came to speak (in Spanish) to the high school Spanish students about volunteering in the community. They are both involved in Diamante, Inc.'s annual "Ritmo Latino" Festival in downtown Cary.

Several students signed up to volunteer including Albatoul Abounouar, Leul Bruk, Firdaws Bounagui and Nia Pierce. The students helped in various capacities at the festival, which included a variety of Latin music, food and crafts, as well as bouncy castles and a soccer clinic for children. The students did a wonderful job, and represented TMSA very well. They also had an opportunity to hear and practice their Spanish with other Spanish-speakers in the community. Mr. and Mrs. Walker also stopped by to say 'hola' and enjoyed a fresh Piña colada (non-alcoholic!) from one of the vendors.

Well done to all who participated! We look forward to more collaboration with Siemens and Diamante Inc. in the future.
