TMSA Teacher Featured on NPR

TMSA teacher, Ms. Bushnaq was recently featured on a WUNC radio program.

Few may realize that Triangle Math and Science Academy’s mathematics and French teacher, Suad Bushnaq, is also a talented musician and composer. In fact, Ms. Bushnaq is one of only a few Arab women composers in the world. She has written both documentary and feature film scores, as well as numerous concert pieces. Recently, Ms. Bushnaq was featured on WUNC Radio’s live radio show The State of Things hosted by Frank Stasio.  An article written about her is called “From Amman to Raleigh—The Life of Arab Composer Suad Bushnaq”and was written by Anita Rao and Frank Stasio. Both the article and the interview give insights into her life, both past and present, and explain how Ms. Bushnaq came to be a composer. To view the article and listen to the radio broadcast, go to the attached link. Samples of her music are also included. (Note: There is a slight delay at the beginning of the recorded interview, but keep listening.)
