NC State Visits TMSA

On Friday, April 10, 2015, members of NC State’s soccer team and their coaches delivered an important message to the Triangle Math and Science Academy middle school students. Coach Findley, Assistant Coach Ronnie, and players Yanni Hachem (SO) and Caleb Duvernay (FR) dazzled students with their soccer skills and spoke about education and the importance of working hard to achieve one’s goals. These division one athletes and coaches explained that success comes from the ability to balance your time and prioritize your commitments.

Coach Findley told two stories; one was about feeding the “dog” that you want to win which meant to feed the good habits in your life and starving the bad habits. The other story was about “building your own house.”  He reminded students that each of us is “building our own house” now- in that we are building our own lives.  He urged students to establish good habits and positive character traits.  Not only was the assembly very insightful, it was also fun!  During the assembly, students and staff were included in several demonstrations in which they tried to imitate the players’ skills and show off their own.  Students and staff at Triangle Math and Science Academy truly appreciate these players’ and coaches’ commitment to giving back to the community.
