National Theater for Children Performance

Actors from the National Theater for Children joined us on Tuesday March 17th for a performance entitled The Treasure Trove of Conservation Cove.

Kindergarten through third grade students attended the show.  They learned about natural resources and conserving energy.  The performance was sponsored by Duke Energy Progress, so they came and visited us for free!  Students also received a fun workbook to reinforce the concepts taught.  Students at TMSA can go to www.xmarksthekit.org to sign up to receive their own free "treasure kit" that contains different items to help save energy around the house.  Each sign-up for our school helps enter us into a contest to win $10,000!  The kit is worth over $40 and can help you save up to $200 on you home energy bill each year.  To add to the fun, we got to watch it in our new school auditorium (yay!).  It is very nice, and the kids enjoyed themselves and learned about energy-saving.
