College-Awareness and Leadership Program Winter Camp

Displaying photo.JPG    College-Awareness and Leadership Program(CLP) teams organized its CLP winter camp nearby Lake Gaston. From what hear from parents along with the children and their CLP advisor, this camp was a big success.

Every had a good time to remember and had an opportunity to streamline their leadership skills in their life. CLP Mentor assigned them a great deal of responsibilities and guided them throughout the camp timeline.

Students not only did have an opportunity to cook for their friends, clean their rooms, make their beds and organize their items in their rooms, but also studied for their academic teams, read their books and watched movies with popcorns. We had memorable times during camp with Tug of Wars, soccer,  cook out time, table tennis, pool game, Xbox, knowledge contest and so on.

The kids also played team spirit games which helped them learning about teamwork, collaboration and team spirit. CLP Mentors touched based character education skills when they hold their team meetings during camp, which help them building their own character. The kids learned about respect, bullying, nice character traits, leadership, responsibilities.

Over all, we had 37 students and 8 mentors in boys as well as in girls camp. We also welcomed  some guests throughout the camp. We had several parents came over and stayed with us over night, helped cooking, organizing and having a good time kids. We give a BIG thanks to our CLP Mentors, students and their parents, for making this a great turn out. We look forward to seeing our second CLP camp sometime soon.
