We're Going on a Field Trip!

4th and 5th grade students understanding that learning and fun can go together!

In preparation for our field trip to the North Carolina American Indian Heritage Festival Education Day, TMSA’s 4th and 5th graders have been learning all about many different Native American nations in their Social Studies classes.  Our 4th graders are learning about the different nations which have called North Carolina for centuries.

TMSA’s 5th graders learned all about the Eastern Woodland nations.  The 4th and 5th grade students alike are excited to travel to downtown Raleigh to the North Carolina Museum of History to learn about the state recognized Native American nations.  Our students will be able to listen to stories and learn different languages from natives of North Carolina.  They will also be able to attend exhibits and observe demonstrations on traditional hunting and fishing, traditional regalia, pottery, and so much more.  This will be a treat for everyone involved!

If you are looking for something fun and free for you and your family to do together this weekend, you can all go have a great time in downtown Raleigh to attend the 18th Annual North Carolina American Indian Heritage Festival on November 23, 2013.  Please see the link for more details.
