Principal's Corner

Dear TMSA Parents and Guardians,

TMSA is a great school where great stuff has been taking place every week. On October 17, TMSA launched a helium balloon into Earth’s atmosphere.  I would like to thank Science Olympiad team and the Lovelace family for such a great event. Please see the launch video below.

I would like to thank all TMSA parents for great feedback with a lot of great observations. We will take advantage of all the feedback. The results will be shared with the entire community next week.

We have decided to give snack time to all elementary students. Starting from Monday, 4th and 5th grade will have snack the first 5 minutes of 4th period at 10:24am.

North Carolina students now have a higher proficiency standard to meet on the state's end-of-grade and end-of-course tests. New standards today were approved by the State Board of Education to bring expectations for student performance in line with current career and college expectations. When the 2012-13 test results are provided to parents, schools and districts in November, results will be much lower than North Carolina has seen for a number of years. Local school and district scores will be released on Thursday, Nov. 7. Please watch the video below to have an idea on READY program.

The next Board Meeting will be held at our sister school in Greensboro on October 26th at 11 am. We will have video conferencing set up in the media center to attend the meeting.
