TMSA Students Take Awards at Regional Science Fair

 

The Triangle Math and Science Academy science department would like to announce that 35 students participated in the Regional Science Fair on Saturday, February 11, 2017 held at Hillside High School in Durham.  Of our 35 students, 11 of TMSA’s students were recognized with awards at the Regional Science Fair:

Elementary:

Exemplary: Nicholas Lenfestey

Middle School:

First Place Chemistry: Sarah Sander

First Place Technology: Shishira Somashekar

Honorable Mention Physics: Michael Ansarijaberi

High School:

Third Place Biology: Shruthi Marota

Third Place Physics: Brigitte Gallagher

We also had two middle school students participate in the Environmental Science Category of the Regional North Carolina Student Academy of Science PowerPoint Presentations. Our students, Humairaa Zafiruddin and Samiya Abdulateef, won second place.

Congratulations to all of our TMSA students who participated. Our students who placed first and second will be advancing to the State Science Fair, which will be held at Meredith College on Saturday, March 25; we wish them the best of luck in the next round of competitions.
