TMSA Students Completed a Mural in Art Room

Triangle Math and Science Academy has completed its first mural. Art teacher Christopher Hobbs designed the mural, while students in grades six and seven helped paint the images. Located in the art room, the entire mural is approximately 45 x 12 feet tall and was completed at a total cost of $65.00 for the acrylic paint. For almost two months, middle school students enjoyed working on the mural as well as learning about artistic color theory, mural painting, painting techniques, and illustration.

The mural depicts several different themes, including fantasy (literature), education (numbers and letters), North Carolina history and locations (Sir Walter Raleigh’s ship, Blue Ridge Mountains, Wright Brothers’ Plane), nature, and of course – TMSA school spirit! If you ever visit Triangle Math and Science Academy in Cary, NC, be sure to stop by the art classroom and check out the mural for yourself!
