Triangle Math and Science Academy NC+MC Results

On October 19, 2013 the North Carolina Mathnasium Centers hosted the 4th Annual North Carolina NC+MC Competition in Raleigh. The NC+MC competition draws hundreds of competitors from 3rd through 8th grades. The competition consists of three events, which focus on various mathematical concepts that students should master in each grade.

The three events are: The Counting Game (tests students ability to count from any number, to any number, by any number), 5 x 5 (formerly called NCMC Magic Squares – students are awarded points for creativity in developing their own math problems) and Mental Math Workout (tests students Number Sense by asking them to solve given problems the ‘smart’ way without pencil and paper.) 40 students competed in this competition and 25 of them were qualified to move on to national level. Triangle Math and Science Academy 2nd – 5th grade students took part of it. Congratulations to Sukreth V. and Nitya N., who received perfect score in their level. Triangle Math and Science Academy is also pleased to announce that Nitin C., from fourth grade, placed in second place, and Benjamin W., from sixth grade, placed in 3rd place after a triple tie. Both Samriddhi S, seventh grade, and Sukreth V, from third grade, earned 5th place in their divisions. Ingrid C., seventh grade, and Ruhie R., 5th grade, placed in sixth place in their divisions as well.
